BOSTON (AP) — A licensed gun dealer in Massachusetts has been charged by federal authorities with conspiring to sell three handguns to a straw buyer that were later linked to one of three people injured in a shooting in Boston.
Cory Daigle, 28, the owner of Steelworks Defense Solutions that operates out of a Littleton building that is home to multiple gun dealers, sold the three guns to the straw buyer on Oct. 27 knowing that the weapons were being passed on to a 20-year-old man who was not legally allowed to possess them, according to federal documents.
That person showed up at a Boston hospital on Nov. 7 after apparently being injured in a shooting in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood, and two of the guns were found at his father’s home, according to records.
Daigle is charged with conspiracy, and possession or transfer of a machine gun, in connection with parts found during a court-authorized search of his Revere home.
His federal public defender said in an email that he had no comment. A voicemail was left at Steelworks Defense Solutions.

Dealers cannot sell guns to anyone other than the properly licensed person who will own it, according to federal law.
